You may register to vote in Los Angeles County if you are:

A citizen of the United States.

At least 18 years of age or older on or before Election Day.

Not found mentally incompetent by a court of law.

Have questions or need help voting?

Call APIA Vote and Asian Americans Advancing Justice's Hotline, both 501(c)3 non-profit organizations, at 1-888-API-VOTE (1-888-274-8683). They have bilingual assistance available in Tagalog/Filipino, English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese, Urdu, Hindi, and Bengali. 

  • Hours: This hotline is taking calls live every day from 6 AM - 6 PM PST / 9 AM - 9 PM EST. On Election Day, they will be taking live calls from 3 AM - 7 PM PST / 6 AM - 10 PM EST.  Throughout the rest of the year, calls to the hotline will be answered within 24 hours.

  • [Option 1:] Check your registration status on the CA Secretary of State website here.

    • You will need​ to provide:

      • Your name

      • California Drivers License or Identification Card Number

      • Last 4 digits of your Social Security Number

      • Date of Birth​

  • [Option 2:] If you live in Los Angeles County, you can also check your status on the LA County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk website here. If you need assistance, call (800) 815-2666.

    • You will need​ to provide:

      • Your last name​

      • Date of Birth

      • House Number

      • Zip Code

Pro Tip: If you have moved recently, changed your party affiliation, or changed your name, you will need to update your information.
